About Me
Hannah Slagell, born and raised in Springfield, Ohio, discovered her passion for ceramics in 2020, thanks to her grandmother, Sara Suver. Recently, she graduated with a BFA in ceramics at The Ohio State University. During her research, Hannah has been experimenting with various materials in the ceramic studio, including different clay bodies, decals, molds, glazes, and kiln firings. Her artistic practice focuses on "movement" and bringing life to the clay, making fired clay "bendable" and contorting it into unique shapes. Additionally, she is exploring new mediums such as textiles to create clay-like fabrics and gear mechanisms in her pieces to be interacted with.
